A message to parents from our Dean of Student Activities

Extracurriculars

National Honor Society (NHS)

An invitation only, nation-wide, academic honors group based on academic performance, community service, conduct and character.

Criteria for Consideration into the Mother Mary Elizabeth Lange Chapter of the NHS:

Unlike the honor roll, which identifies students who excel in academics, the National Honor Society is an honorary title bestowed on those students who demonstrate excellence in SERVICE, LEADERSHIP, CHARACTER, and ACADEMICS.

Service

Through its dignity and uniqueness, Saint Frances Academy continues the legacy of Mother Mary Lange, its foundress. Saint Frances Academy, with faith in God’s Providence, provides relevant educational programs which give all members a sense of their culture by helping students and members of our community, particularly the poor and the neglected, develop and live as respectful and responsible members of God’s family.

Leadership & Character

A student must demonstrate positive leadership qualities in the classroom and in school activities, as well as be respected by faculty as being honest and conscientious. The student must also have an unblemished discipline record, which is an 80% discipline average each semester prior to consideration for induction.

Academics

A student must maintain a 3.0 average through two (2) of four (4) semesters as a sophomore, or three (3) or six (6) semesters as a junior.

Student Government Associate (SGA)

The student government association is primarily made of the elected officers for each class and other students who like to plan activities for the school.

The SGA plans the following events:

  • Flag Football Competition
  • Fall Talent Show
  • Christmas Toy Drive
  • Christmas Door Decorating Contest
  • Spirit Week
  • Homecoming Pep Rally

Each class meets monthly to plan class events like retreat, sophomore pinning, freshmen commitment, junior ring mass and senior inauguration.
