Key Club History at St. Frances Academy
In 2007, one of our former students attended an inspiring leadership weekend where he met a Baltimore Kiwanis representative. The Kiwanis member inspired our student to think about opening our own club at St. Frances Academy, which is exactly what he did. Montay Henson (class of 2010) took all the necessary steps to charter a Key Club at St. Frances, and in the Fall, 2008, the St. Frances Academy Key Club was born. The Key Club has been connected to our sponsoring club, the Baltimore City Kiwanis Club, since its inception. With the dedicated help of Baltimore City Kiwanis Club member Mr. Karl Pfrommer, our club has been actively involved in local service projects now for three years. Current St. Frances Academy advisers include Linda Wilson and Laura Waterhouse. Key Club students learn skills to operate a student-led service organization, build positive leadership skills, work together as a team and perform service with a heart to the school and community.
