Class of 2020 Commencement Time Slots
Commencement is a highlight of our scholars' academic careers. Moreover, the ability to share the closing exercise of their post-secondary career with close family and friends is important. Since the current guidelines permit gatherings of no more than 10 people, we have decided to invite each graduate to the Chapel individually over the course of 10 days.
While we are unable to hold a celebration en masse, we are making available dedicated time slots to individually and properly award and celebrate each of our graduating seniors. This format will allow the senior to have NO MORE THAN 6 family/friends present.
Dr. Turner and Dr. Gaddy will be attired in the appropriate academic regalia and each senior will wear his/her graduation gown. Attending family and friends should properly attired for the occasion, which will be held in the historic chapel at Saint Frances Academy. Additionally, we plan to have a professional photographer present to capture the moment.
Most importantly, Dr. Turner and Dr. Gaddy will maintain social distancing guidelines and don appropriate masks. We ask the graduate and all family and friends who do not live together to do the same.
PLEASE DO NOT invite others to join you on or near the campus when the graduate receives his/her diploma. Space on and around campus is limited and other scholars and their family members will be in designated locations. This will ensure we continue to follow the guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization, and Maryland Health officials related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) global emergency and avoid law enforcement action.
