A message to parents from our Dean of Student Activities

“What is being done to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year?”

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We know many families are eagerly awaiting information regarding the fall semester. While state and local mandates and CDC guidelines are ever-changing, Saint Frances Academy’s mission of educational excellence and responding to the needs of our students and community will remain our top priority.  We are still dedicated to developing respectful and responsible members of God’s Family, regardless of the pandemic. Saint Frances Academy has established a Reopening Committee (SFARC) that is guided by the following principles:

  • Prioritizing student, teacher, and staff health and safety
  • Providing a high quality, meaningful education
  • Adhering to CDC and State protocols, and advice from local medical professionals
  • Providing students and families with spiritual and emotional support
  • Creating solutions and school routines that are flexible and easy to follow

While this has been a challenging time, we are excited with the possibilities surrounding our “new normal”.  Although there will be constraints and adjustments for everyone, we are committed to moving forward with the implementation of new educational and technological practices.  We are confident that our new and enhanced methods of learning will set our students up for success in a constantly changing, high technology world.

Looking Ahead

SFARC members have taken full advantage of numerous resources from schools around the world that have progressed through various stages of reopening.   Members of the committee have also participated in Webinars and Live Broadcast Q&As throughout the country, and we have been collaborating with other schools in our area.   We will incorporate the best of what we have learned, in addition to our own innovative ideas, to ensure Saint Frances Academy’s success.  As more information becomes available regarding how officials address risk from the pandemic, we will be able to provide you more concrete information as far as scheduling and policies (see graphic below).

We are committed to being transparent with updates as they become available.  Please note that the response to the COVID-19 Pandemic very fluid.   As officials make new pronouncements, Saint Frances Academy will continue to evolve our plans and adapt to changes.  You can expect further communication from in the weekly newsletters.   In the meantime, if questions or suggestions can be sent to Ms. Anne Spencer, Anne.Spencer@SFAcademy.org. With your partnership and support, we will have a wonderful 2020-2021 school year.
