VARSITY OVERWHELMS GORETTI 65-39

After being down 10-9 at the end of the first quarter, the Varsity went on a scoring spree to take a half time lead of 34-21. Early on it was a typical Goretti game, with the Gaels holding the ball, passing and passing until they got a good shot. The Panthers stepped up the defense in the second quarter and started to use their speed and athletic ability to change the pace of the game. That made all the difference.
Once again it was a total team effort with contributions from every player. Sean Mosley led the way with 20 points, 5 boards, 2 assists and 4 steals. Right behind was Anthony “New York” Oquendo with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Their senior leadership, along with Donald Washington, proved the difference.
