PANTHERS WIN BY 5 OVER SJCP

December 13th, 2007

It was a hard fought victory last night over a scrappy SJCP team.  The Panthers were never in safe territory and when they tried to take the air out of the ball in the fourth quarter, they almost lost the game.

Sean Mosley led all scorers with 23 points and he was helped by a big game from “New York” Anthony Oquendo who had 12 points and 8 rebounds.  “New York” has had difficulty with his knee and it was good to see him back in uniform making a positive contribution.  Wayne Sparrow was solid once again with 14 points and 6 steals.  He is growing into his role as a starter and is improving every game.  Donald Washington only scored 2 points but he had an all around game with three rebounds, two assists and three steals.

The Panthers played short handed with two starters and two reserves out, but they showed their depth once again as other players stepped up and did the job.

Next up is a game in Wheeling, West Virginia tomorrow which will be a webcast game with our own David Owens doing the play by play.  You can watch it on the web and the link is on our website at sfacademy.org.

On Tuesday the team will take on Owings Mills at home at seven p.m. and go to Goretti in Hagerstown next Friday.
