Sr. JF Basketball Blog PANTHERS PREVAIL IN A SHOOTOUT AGAINST MCDONOGH
For most of the first half in last night’s game, it was Gerald Sheppard versus Sean Mosley. The two star players were shooting like it was the OK Corral. At the half, it was dead even……31 points for each team, the bulk of them being scored by their star players.
Things changed somewhat in the second half when a defensive switch put Sean Mosley guarding Sheppard. Sean’s defense was the difference as the Panthers pulled to a six point lead going into the fourth quarter. They then slowed the tempo down and ended up winning by 4, 57-53.
Mosley finished with 34 points and 7 rebounds as he led his team to victory and the first game in league play. Wayne Sparrow was also in double figures with ten points. Again this was a team win as the deep Panthers subbed in player after player who did the job. Next up is St. John’s College Prep on Thursday at home and then the Panthers travel to West Virginia for a tournament on Saturday.
