Fine Arts / Physical Education / Counseling

Art
Grade 11 and 12
2 Semesters

This is an introductory course in art.  It provides basic instruction in the various forms and techniques of artwork.  Students will produce and display various pieces of artwork throughout the course.

Physical Education
Grade 9
1 Semester

This course offers the students diverse opportunities that will contribute to their overall development.  The student is introduced to the total field of physical education and its future value.  Lifetime activities are stressed throughout the course.  Team sports such as flag football, basketball, volleyball, softball and soccer are played.  Even if the student does not become highly skilled, he/she can become an interested and knowledgeable spectator.

Peer Counseling
Grade 11 and 12
2 Semesters

The focus of this course is to address the topics of self-management, conflict and aggression, conflict resolution, stress management, and relationships through group discussion and support.  The course requires the student to maintain a journal about their feelings and the things going on in their lives.  Students will alternate leading a spiritual exercise (prayer, scriptural reading, meditation)  and discuss the topic of the day.
