Yellow Signs Springing Up in the Brentwood Village-Johnston Square Neighborhood Surrounding Our School
March 28, 2006
Take down the "WE BUY HOUSES" signs... they are uglifying our neighborhood.
Let's show the companies that are installing them everywhere that we're no fools; an April Fool's Day action is called for Saturday, April 1st at noon, please join us ... Let's all get our clippers and step ladders out at high noon and take the WE BUY HOUSES signs down!!!!
The greedy predators are not fooling us and they're not going to use us in their pursuit of ill-gotten gain. Let's act as a group and with conviction.... Let's take a large number of the signs down and send a message: Take your greed, meanness and unethical behavior elsewhere. We won't stand for it. We must act now... the predators are getting more and more aggressive... signs are plastered everywhere on light posts and on our many vacant houses. They are an assault on our neighborhood.
Do what you can wherever you are: TAKE DOWN THE SIGNS... show them we're no fools for greed, preying on the poor and violating the law (those signs are illegally installed on those light posts). Take 'em down, as many as you can, wherever you are... as long as you can on Saturday afternoon.
My wife and I were shocked to find the glut of signs on 33rd Street near the Farmers' Market on Saturday morning. We spent an hour taking them all down because they are way up and the bands that attach them are pretty thick.
I know that other groups have been sending staff out to take them down on a regular basis. I don't know about you but I feel extremely offended that predators on the poor would use our complacency and silence to prey on poor folks and to line their own pockets.
I say we need a strong group effort. Let's go get 'em!
