William Wells
William Wells established the St. Frances Academy boys basketball program without the benefit of a home gymnasium. He began coaching at St. Frances Academy in 1979, practicing at various rec centers and playing "home" games at the University of Baltimore. The Panthers competed in CYO leagues for seven years. Prior to the 1986-87 season the Baltimore Catholic League (BCL) accepted St. Frances as a junior varsity team. The Panthers went undefeated during the 1987-88 and were granted varsity staus. His teams have won six BCL championship tournaments as well as the prestigious Alhambra Tournament in 1996. In January 2002, SFA played its first game in its own gymnasium. Below is the record of Coach William Wells since St. Frances joined the Baltimore Catholic League.
